Weekly show Debate with Gopi Bhatmam, is a program on Youth of GSB official channel where the current issues related to the community are debated. Each week one topic is selected and an in-depth analysis of the pros and cons of the topic is debated at 7:00pm. The topic is aired Live on every Thursday.
The topic of discussion on this week’s debate was ‘Vastrasamhitha’. The largest temple of GSB Community – Sri Venkataramana Temple, Kochi, has been following prescribed dress code for the devotees since ancient times. Following the footsteps, the managing committee of Sri Venkataramana Temple, Car Street, Mangaluru, has prescribed a specific dress code for the devotees offering prayers at the temple from 13th April, 2021. The positive effects of the ‘Vastrasamhitha’ enforced by the Managing Commitee was debated. Sri Prashanth Rao, Trustee, Sri Venkataramana Temple, Mangaluru and Sri K Venkataramana Kamath, Volunteer, took part in the debate as the panelists and shared their positive view on the decision taken by the committee.
During the debate Sri Jagannath Kamath, President, All Temple Association and Sri D Vasudev Kamath, President, Managing Committee, Sri Venkataramana Temple, Konchady, shared their happiness on the decision and also promised to take positive steps in ensuring that other temple’s follow the suit.
Apart from these personalities, many devotees also joined through phone-in where they shared their thoughts and also posed a few queries which were answered during the debate.
